Description:

Description for B&B:

Located at the junction of the Yonne river and the Canal du Nivernais, the village of Mailly-la-Ville offers a unique setting for boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, or leisurely walks. The river and canal are major attractions for tourists, especially since the village is adjacent to the picturesque "Les Coûtas" coasts, which were once covered in vineyards but disappeared in the early 20th century. These coasts provide stunning panoramas that can be enjoyed from the village's pathways.

Situated above one of the locks of the Canal du Nivernais, there are three guest rooms available on the first floor of a 17th-century building, separate from the owners' residence. On the ground floor, a relaxation area is dedicated to guests and includes a fully equipped kitchen for dining or meal preparation. Additionally, guests have access to a shared inner courtyard with the owners.

With a total capacity of 8 people, it is possible to book all three bedrooms and convert the guest rooms into guest houses. The guest rooms, known as "Les Coûtas," are open year-round.

One of the guest rooms, called Chambre du Père Leleu, can accommodate up to 4 people and offers a privileged view of one of the locks of the Canal du Nivernais and the Yonne River. This family suite is named after a local figure, "Father Leleu." Father Leleu, a former Communard, settled in the neighboring commune of Saint-Moré in 1887. He resided in a cave overlooking the Cure, Roche Percee, and discovered numerous prehistoric artifacts in the caves. He showcased his troglodyte living environment, inviting visitors to explore his "apartments" and witness live vipers. In 1913, his body was discovered inside the cave, leaving behind a mysterious and legendary story. Your stay in this guest room can be an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Father Leleu.

The family suite consists of two rooms with a double bed and two bunk beds, a private bathroom, and a separate toilet. The water facilities are also private. Please note that the bunk beds can be modified for children under 6 years old. The double bed measures 140 cm, and the single bunk beds measure 90 cm. The bedroom is equipped with two desks and two storage cabinets, and the room has electrical heating. The shower room includes a shower, washbasin, heated towel rail, and a hairdryer.
