Description for Gite

The Mansion, originally designed in 1886 by the renowned architect Harald M. Hansen for his own family, stands today as a Historically Significant Building. Its preservation of all the original Victorian details, including Giannini and Hilgart stained glass windows, pocket doors and shutters, parquet floors, decorative fireplaces, carved wood trim, and plaster ceiling medallions, showcases its timeless beauty.

The 19th century furnishings and artwork within the Mansion perfectly capture its original charm. However, we have also made sure to provide modern comforts to our guests, such as central air conditioning, high-speed Internet, WiFi, and ethernet. We strictly enforce a non-smoking policy to ensure the utmost comfort for everyone. This creates an unparalleled experience in Chicago, making your stay truly unique.

The first level of the Mansion features a spacious living room, a dining room that comfortably accommodates ten guests, a butler's pantry, a convenient half bath, and a newly remodeled full eat-in kitchen.

As for our sleeping arrangements, we offer four bedrooms. Three of these bedrooms are equipped with queen beds, while the fourth bedroom has two single beds.
