Description for B&B:

Casa Marta is a charming 18th-century stone building situated in the picturesque village of Pascoso in Tuscany, Italy. With three floors, each spanning approximately 325 square feet, this historic house offers a cozy and comfortable living space. Located in the Apuane Park, it sits at an elevation of 2321 feet above sea level, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

The house features a well-equipped kitchen/living room area, two bedrooms, a full bathroom, a powder room, and two pantries. While there is no lawn, there is a lovely spot just outside the French doors of the downstairs bedroom where you can place a small table, sunshade, and chairs to enjoy the outdoors. The house has two entrances, one at the front leading to the kitchen/pantry, and another at the back leading to the downstairs bedroom.

Casa Marta is furnished with a combination of new and antique pieces, including exquisite Tuscan furniture from the 19th century. The light fixtures are elegant, and for your entertainment, we provide a television with satellite channels, a radio, and a CD player. Although there is no telephone installed, you can easily find a public phone in the town or access telephone, computer, and internet facilities at our office.

To ensure your comfort during colder months, the house features a central heating system powered by gas. And of course, what mountain house would be complete without a working fireplace? You can cozy up on the second floor and enjoy the warmth and ambiance it provides.

Overall, Casa Marta offers a unique and inviting retreat in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, combining historical charm with modern amenities for a memorable stay.

Directions

To get to Pascoso, you need to first arrive at Lucca. If you are coming from North Italy (Milan) or South Italy (Rome), you will reach Florence. From Florence North, take the motorway to Pisa North (Pisa Nord) without leaving the Milan to Rome motorway. After approximately 50 kilometers (35-40 miles), you will reach Lucca. Exit the motorway at either Lucca West (LUCCA OVEST) or Lucca East (LUCCA EST). In Lucca, take State Road 12 (SS 12) towards Abetone/Garfagnana. There are several road signs indicating the direction, even at the motorway exits. After approximately 5-6 kilometers from Lucca, you will reach Ponte a Moriano. Turn left and continue following the direction of Abetone/Garfagnana. You will pass four tunnels, and approximately 1 mile after the fourth tunnel, turn right towards Borgo a Mozzano. After approximately 2 miles, you will reach Diecimo (a 5-minute drive), and 200 meters after the road sign for "Diecimo" on the right side of the road, you will find a Tamoil gasoline pump on the left side. After another 100 meters, turn left towards Pescaglia as indicated by the road sign. There is only one asphalt road. Continue until you reach Pescaglia (8-10 kilometers from Diecimo) and then Pascoso (6-7 kilometers from Pescaglia).
