Description for B&B:

Welcome to "Takeyama" guest house, also known as "The Bamboo Mountain." Our establishment is a reflection of my love for the majestic mountain landscapes and rich Japanese culture. It is my sincere hope that your stay at Takeyama will provide you with a unique opportunity to share in these passions. Whether you seek a relaxing retreat or prefer an active adventure, our guest house offers a wide range of activities to suit your preferences. From indulging in retail therapy in the picturesque ski resorts of Chamonix or Megève, to exploring enchanting forests and serene lakes, and engaging in thrilling pursuits such as climbing or skiing, there is something for everyone, regardless of the season.
Situated in the charming village of Domancy, enveloped by the breathtaking Mont-Blanc, the Aravis mountain range, and the magnificent peak of Warens, our home draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese guest houses, or "Ryokans." While carefully designed to align with modern living, Takeyama retains the subtle charm of these authentic Japanese accommodations, incorporating natural materials like tatami mats, sliding doors made of wood, and antique Japanese furniture. Rice paper is also utilized to enhance the ambiance. Every aspect of our guest house is meticulously prepared to ensure your comfort and tranquility after a fulfilling day exploring the wonders of our beautiful mountains.

Appréciations pour Takeyama Ryokan, Domancy:

Une halte japonaise bien agréable
Review by: Olivier, Aou 22 2012 6:19PM

Directions

Our guest house is situated in the charming village of Domancy, right in front of the majestic Mont-Blanc. It offers stunning views of the valley and the surrounding plain. From our home, you can enjoy panoramic views of three mountains: the Aravis massif to the west, the peak of Warens to the north, and the iconic Mont-Blanc to the east. We are conveniently located just 6 km from Combloux, 24 km from Chamonix, and 10 km from Megève.

If you are traveling by train, you have a few options. If you are coming from Paris on the TGV high-speed train, you will need to change trains at either Lyon Part Dieu or Lyon Perrache railway station. During the winter holidays, some TGV trains arrive at Saint Gervais les Bains railway station, which is only 7 km away from our guest house. From there, you can rent a car, take a taxi, or catch a bus to reach us. The nearest railway station to our guest house is Sallanches, which is just 3 km away. You can plan your journey using the helpful link from SNCF, where you can enter either "Sallanches" or "Domancy" as your destination.

Please note that our guest house is approximately 637 km (627 km by motorway) and 6 hours away from Paris. It is 208 km (198 km by motorway) and 2 hours away from Lyon. If you are traveling from Geneva, Switzerland, it is about 66 km (57 km by motorway) and 45 minutes away.

If you are coming from motorway A40/E25, heading towards Chamonix, you will need to take exit number 21, which is labeled "Le Fayet - St Gervais-Les-Bains". At the first roundabout, continue straight ahead. At the next roundabout, turn right towards Sallanches. As you drive, you will pass supermarkets on your right. Continue on the road called "Route du Fayet" (also known as A road or state highway N205) for about 300 meters. At the crossroad with a high cross, turn left. Then, take the first road on your right, which is a small road called "route de la Viaz". Follow this road until you reach a turning, where you will turn left onto "Chemin du Cart". Our guest house, Takeyama, is located a short distance down this road on your left.
