Description for Gite

Experience the charm of "Les Caselles" farmhouse on the Causse, where local history meets sustainable, quality tourism. Dating back to the 17th century, this authentic Aveyron building is nestled in the heart of the Grands Causses Natural Park, benefiting from the expertise of the renowned builders from the nearby village of Saint-Beauzely.

Situated near Millau, the Gorges du Tarn, and the Larzac plateau, Saint-Beauzely is the birthplace of the builders of the Templar and Hospital cities' fortifications. "Les Caselles" was once a thriving Causses farm in the picturesque hamlet of Azinières, contributing to the reputation of the famous Roquefort cheese. Its extensive land allowed for the grazing of ewes on the unique flora-rich Causse Rouge.

Over the years, the farm faced challenges, leading to its decline. However, in the year 2000, a buyer embarked on an extraordinary renovation project, transforming it into a farm inn and bringing the tourist project to life. Since then, "Les Caselles" has welcomed travelers seeking an exceptional experience.

Today, Mikaël and Alizée Pélégry have taken on the reins, prioritizing quality and ecological transition for sustainable and responsible tourism. Mikaël's reflection on his life priorities, combined with the birth of their daughter, led them to leave their previous professions and move to Aveyron, their family's birthplace.

Committed to environmental challenges, Mikaël and Alizée have set themselves the ambitious goal of transforming the farmhouse into a low-energy, eco-friendly home. With the help of local experts, the building now houses 5 top-of-the-range guest rooms, a charming gite, and various communal and private areas, all with energy consumption comparable to a single-family home.

At "Les Caselles," guests can indulge in guilt-free and responsible tourism, thanks to the high-performance, eco-friendly equipment provided. From small changes to major renovations, every action at the farmhouse contributes to a sustainable approach, including the use of rainwater, installation of solar panels, and provision of a charging point for electric vehicles.

The commitment to sustainability extends to the table d'hotes, where the focus is on using fresh, local, and quality products from nearby producers, showcasing the richness of the Aveyron region.

Mikaël and Alizée aspire to offer visitors the warmth and authenticity of a true Aveyron house, striving to become one of the best guest houses in the region. Their dedication to friendliness and quality ensures that every guest enjoys a remarkable experience.

Join the "slow tourism" movement and discover the picturesque, sporting, and green wonders of Aveyron at "Les Caselles."
