This elegant townhouse features four spacious guestrooms, each uniquely decorated and equipped with private shower rooms. The rooms offer breathtaking views, perfect for inspiring artists. Previously the residence of the Duke de Lévis-Mirepoix, the house boasts a magnificent gallery adorned with stained glass windows, rococo plaster, and decorative tiles.

Located in the charming bastide village of Léran, which dates back to the 13th century, the town's skyline is dominated by a majestic chateau. Le Castelou offers art and film-making activities, including a variety of courses suitable for all skill levels. The facility provides painting easels, studios, and digital media resources for guests to utilize.

The decor of our four bedrooms is carefully designed to create a sense of spaciousness while highlighting the unique shapes and angles within each room. Le Belvédère features a staircase that leads to a private balcony with a breathtaking panoramic view. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing drink while admiring the stunning architecture of the Chateau, the picturesque church of Léran, or the majestic Pyrenees mountains.

La Belle Pyrène is a generously sized room with stunning views of the Pyrenees mountains. This aspect allows for ample warm atmospheric light in the afternoons and evenings. Even the ensuite shower room offers a delightful view of the village rooftops and the Pyrenees.

La Suite Léran consists of two adjoining bedrooms, equipped with double and single beds, providing flexibility and space for couples, families, or friends. The suite includes a private shower room and overlooks Cours St Jacques, a historic pilgrimage route along the Pyrenees from France to Spain known as the Camino Santiago de Campostella.

La Suite Castelou is a spacious room with its own salon area, en-suite shower room, and separate private WC. This grand suite, measuring over 50 m2 (550 sq ft), is perfect for those who prefer ample space. The windows, positioned at tree-top level, offer splendid views of Cours St Jacques and the Pyrenees.

Directions

To get to Mirepoix from Blagnac/Toulouse, take the A61 on the peripherique and follow the signs for Carcassonne, Barcelona, and FOIX PEAGE (not Foix RN 20). Once on the A61, continue past the toll booth and keep an eye out for the A66 fork towards Andorra. At the next toll booth, merge onto the N20 towards Foix. Take exit 6 towards Mirepoix and Lavelanet. Join the D119 towards Mirepoix (first exit on the right at the roundabout), and drive through Les Pujols, Rieucros, Coutens, and Besset before reaching Mirepoix. Go straight at the first roundabout on the town outskirts. At the second roundabout, turn right onto the D625 towards Lavelanet.

If you are coming from Carcassonne, follow the D119 towards Mirepoix. Drive through Montréal and Fanjeaux in the direction of Mirepoix. After crossing the bridge, follow the signs for "toutes directions". At the second set of traffic lights, turn left and then go straight at the roundabout onto the D625 towards Lavelanet.

As you pass through the village of La Bastide de Bousignac, you will soon reach Aigues - Vives (around 8 minutes). When you see the sign for Aigues - Vives, slow down and indicate left because the left turn to Léran is hidden behind some buildings on the left side of the road. This is the only sign for Léran. Take the D28 road, which will lead you directly to the village in about 4 minutes.

After passing the church, take a right turn into cours St Jacques. On the left, you will find the mairie/school. Le Castelou, located at number 8 Cours St Jacques, is the next building on the left, just past the small crossroads. The house is pale yellow with white outlines around the windows.
