Description:

Description for B&B:

Idiartekoborda is an old barn dating back to the seventeenth century that was transformed into a farmhouse in 1832 and later renovated in 2004. The spacious bedrooms feature exposed beams and stone, and each room comes with a private bathroom. Guests can enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings and take in the magnificent view of the ever-changing colors of the Basque mountains. From the property, you can gaze at the famous Mont Hautza and the walls of Iparla. Sandrine, the host, prepares excellent breakfasts using local ingredients. Her husband, Jean-Paul, is happy to provide guidance on hiking and mountain biking routes.

In the vicinity, you can explore the charming village of Baïgorry. Located just 50km from the coast, the area offers a striking contrast between the impressive peaks of the vineyards and Iparla Irouleguy. Countless hiking trails are available for all levels, allowing you to immerse yourself in the forests and discover the preserved flora and fauna of Iraty Hayri. Only 10km away, you'll find St Jean Pied de Port, a significant stop on the St Jacques de Compostela pilgrimage route, accessible via the pass of Roncesvalles. In close proximity are the colorful and renowned Basque villages of Ainhoa, Espelette, Sare, Itxassou, as well as lesser-known gems like Banca and Urepel.

Near the Spanish border, you can indulge in the charm and flavors of the local cuisine. For sports enthusiasts, there are plenty of options. Besides hiking and horseback riding, you can experience the thrill of rafting, kayaking, or hydrospeed in Bidarray. The Upper Gorge Soule offers exhilarating canyoning descents. Air sports such as paragliding in Louhossoa, gliding in Itxassou, or hot air ballooning in St. John the Elder are also available. If golf is your game, the rustic Epherra Golf Club in Souraïde is just a 20-minute drive away. Additionally, within an hour's reach are seven other golf courses along the Basque coast, as well as the beautiful beaches of Biarritz and St Jean de Luz.
