Description for B&B:

The Mauguio Carnon, a popular destination located 10 minutes east of Montpellier, is a melting pot of marshes, rice fields, vineyards, and woodland. The Camargue region, with its diverse landscapes, tells a story of tradition and modernity, where land and water coexist harmoniously. The history of this area is intertwined with a demanding nature, resulting in a unique traditional economy that includes salt production, reed cutting, and viticulture. The extraordinary combination of circumstances brings together bulls, horses, and men in a single culture. Mauguio, situated between Nimes and Montpellier, is easily accessible via the A9 motorway, making it a gateway to the Camargue. Bulls, horses, and men are revered in this region, with their names prominently displayed on Camargue race posters. The Costières Camargue is a land of contrasts, with its mix of hills and marshes, vineyards and meadows. La Petite Camargue captivates visitors with its dreamlike landscapes, where horses, bulls, and birds stimulate the imagination. Mauguio has a rich history, dating back to the Middle Ages when it was the first medieval town of Lower Languedoc. The city is also home to a large Spanish community. Its expansive area includes the beautiful L'Etang de l'Or, a wetland of national importance, renowned for its diverse flora and fauna. The city's fertile land, encompassing market gardens, orchards, and vineyards, contributes to the agricultural abundance of the region. Carnon, with its barrier beach, marina, and protected dunes, attracts tourists as a popular summer destination. The marina offers a range of activities and events throughout the year. Additionally, Mauguio benefits from its proximity to Montpellier-Méditerranée International Airport, ensuring easy access to modern transportation networks. The city's flat landscape, bordered by swamps, is a common sight for equestrians, as there are numerous stables in the area.
