Description:

Description for B&B:

Located on the first floor, this room in our medieval stone townhouse offers a spacious area with high ceilings measuring 23 m². It is furnished with two comfortable single beds that can easily be combined into a double bed. The room also features a modern private bathroom, complete with a large window, double marble basin, corner bath, and WC. Guests are welcome to use the dining room and reception room on the ground floor, and bicycles can be securely stored in the cellar. Please note that the second floor is reserved for the owners' accommodation.

While our townhouse does not have a garden or swimming pool, we provide everything you need for a peaceful and comfortable night's stay. In the morning, enjoy a delicious and substantial breakfast. This includes freshly squeezed orange juice, as well as a choice of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. We offer French bread, croissants, butter, jams, honey, and more. You can choose between two breakfast options: the generous breakfast, which is included in the fixed B&B price and includes a selection of cheeses and cold meats, or the English breakfast for an additional charge of 6 euros per person, consisting of 2 fried eggs, fried tomato, sausage, bacon, and baked beans. We are also open to accommodating special requests.

Our townhouse is centrally located in a historic village at the foot of the Alpilles. Within the surrounding area, there are various amenities and activities available. A supermarket is just 700 meters away, and a fruit and vegetable stand with a nearby bakery is only 350 meters away. There is also a delicious restaurant within 270 meters. Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty of options, including climbing cliffs in the Alpilles just down the road, swimming and water skiing in a nearby gravel village surrounded by cliffs and woods, hiking trails, dedicated cycle paths, bike rentals, horse riding, and golf courses. The coastline is 60 kilometers away, offering sandy beaches in the bay of Marseille. For relaxation, there is a massage and beauty salon located just 300 meters away, and a balneotherapy center 13 kilometers away in Eygières. Wine and olive oil tastings are available at a vineyard 4.5 kilometers away, with many other options in the area.

Our townhouse is situated near the portico of St. Anne, a historic site where Napoleon passed in 1814. The building itself is adorned with plants hanging on the facade. Orgon, founded in the Middle Ages, is home to a monastery perched on the cliffs of the Alpilles, a castle in ruins belonging to the Duke of Guise, and a magnificent church overlooking the town square. The location is ideal for outdoor activities, and we are more than happy to provide advice and recommendations.

Transportation to Orgon is convenient, as the town has its own train station with regular services to Marseille and Avignon. If you are arriving by car, we recommend parking just outside the city walls and walking a short distance. Bicycles can be stored inside the house, either on bike racks or in the cellar.

During your stay, you can expect a discreet and comfortable experience. We, the owners, live on the second floor, allowing guests to have full access to the rest of the house. However, we are always available to chat and provide any assistance or information you may need.

Appréciations pour La Bégude Des Alpilles, Orgon:

Etapes reposante
Review by: Ferretti, Sep 8 2022 9:35AM
Nous avons fait une belle étape très reposante au début de notre périple. La maison est très agréable et la chambre très calme.
Nous en ferons une autre au retour car les échanges avec ce charmant couple sont très enrichissants.

Directions

To reach the village, come from the Avignon, Cavaillon direction. When you reach the notable roundabout on the western side of the village, take the road D7N leading down towards the village. After traveling 500 m, do not follow the left bend, instead keep going straight for another 150 m until you reach a mini-roundabout. At the mini-roundabout, make a left turn and drive under the portico. Keep an eye out for a charming flowery facade on the left side after 30 m.
