Description for B&B:

Our home, named Ygeia or Hygieia after the Greek Goddess of Health, has become a place where we feel incredibly good. We fell in love with this house in 2009 and have dedicated ourselves to renovating it, except for major construction projects like the pool, which is why it has taken us so long! We decided to rent it out as a gite not only to help cover costs but also to share this amazing place with others. We sincerely hope that you will have a fantastic time here and enjoy the property just as we do!

We are delighted to welcome you to our charming traditional French country house. We have preserved its old-fashioned charm while adding the comfort of modern fixtures. Whether you choose to relax outside on the exceptional river terrace, explore the lush green garden, or unwind in the cozy and comfortable rooms, we are confident that you will fall in love with this house, just as we have.

Flaujagues is located 15 km from St Emilion, the famous medieval village and vineyards, which has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also 50 km from Bordeaux and approximately an hour and a half from the Atlantic coast and the Bassin d’Arcachon, known for its beautiful beaches, oysters, and the renowned Medoc wine region. Flaujagues is nestled in the Entre-deux-Mers region, famous for its wines, stunning medieval villages, and numerous hiking trails. If you enjoy golf, there are four golf courses nearby.

This region of southwest France is known for its culinary delights. The restaurants range from the prestigious Hostellerie de Plaisance in St Emilion, with its Michelin-starred chef, to La Puce, a local restaurant frequented by vineyard workers. The options are diverse, ranging from a delicious steak to local specialties like la Lamproie (a local fish), pigeon, and oysters from Arguin. We would be more than happy to guide you towards the best dining experiences. If you enjoy cooking, we can provide recommendations on where to find the finest products and wines.

Our location is conveniently situated between two international airports: Bergerac, which is connected to England through Ryanair (40 km away), and Bordeaux Merignac (50 km away).
