Description:

Description for B&B:

Located in the heart of Chalais, right across from the town hall, you will find the beautifully renovated 19th century hotel, Maison Charles Maurice. This charming establishment offers six well-appointed bedrooms spread across three floors. As you walk up the alley, you will reach a lovely flowered courtyard where breakfast is served on sunny mornings. The hotel is named after Charles-Maurice, Prince of Talleyrand-Périgord, a prominent figure in French history and the former owner of the impressive Chateau that overlooks the village.

Inside, the hotel boasts a tasteful and refined interior, featuring natural materials and a warm color palette. The original parquet floors and joinery have been lovingly restored, preserving the building's authenticity and creating a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. A grand period staircase leads up to four bedrooms and two suites, all designed with a blend of classic elegance and modern touches.

Room rates vary depending on the season, starting from 44€ per night per room. Additionally, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast for only 8€, which includes a selection of breads, pastries, cheese, ham, and seasonal fruits. The hotel also offers gift vouchers, making it the perfect present. For 169€, you can treat someone to a weekend for two, including two nights with breakfast, a fully stocked fridge upon arrival, and a bottle of champagne!

In addition to the hotel, SHELBOURNE France SARL, the company that owns Maison Charles Maurice, also offers rental cottages at The Domaine du Grand Tourtre in Chalais, as well as The Domaine de Cabosse in Montagrier (Dordogne), for both short and long stays.
