Description for B&B:

The PLESSIS BELLEVUE MANOR, located in Saumur in the Loire Valley, is a historic eighteenth-century building with a connection to VICTOR HUGO, the famous poet, playwright, novelist, and politician. This manor was the residence of his friend and personal physician, EMILE LEON-ALLIX. Victor Hugo himself stayed at the manor multiple times.

The manor has been completely renovated by Alain Nicolas and Veronique Coquema, transforming it into a charming guest house that combines comfort with the French "Art de Vivre." It boasts a beautifully landscaped garden and a heated swimming pool with breathtaking views of the city of Saumur and the Loire River.

The main house offers a large lounge with a library and a spacious dining room, along with five historical-style suites that provide all modern comforts such as baths or showers, WiFi, safes, satellite TVs, and flat screens.

There is also a cottage, known as THE COTTAGE, which is a fully equipped Gite de France with a lounge and three bedrooms, including handicap-accessible facilities.

The FLAG VICTOR HUGO is home to the Billiard Room, featuring a French balcony and an Eiffel staircase that offers stunning views of the Loire River. This space is suitable for small receptions or events and includes a cellar for cigars, known as The Den BACCHUS.

The FLAG Plantagenets has a fitness spa indoors, complete with a jacuzzi, massage room, and a ping pong table. It also showcases paintings by contemporary masters.

The PLESSIS BELLEVUE MANOR is the perfect venue for hosting local events and small receptions in its beautifully landscaped gardens. It is an ideal location for weddings, birthdays, private seminars, and other special occasions.
