Come and experience the charm of Logis de l’Astrée, located between Saintes and Cognac. This 17th Century nobleman’s house has maintained its original austere style, typical of the Saintonge region. With a warm welcome and a harmonious atmosphere, this house offers a serene retreat with spacious open areas, including a cozy sitting-room/library, a vineyard garden, and a refreshing swimming pool nestled amidst woods and vineyards. It is the perfect place to indulge in the treasures of the Saintonge region, such as the beautiful Atlantic coast, the renowned Cognac spirit, stunning Romanesque architecture, and the vibrant festivals hosted in the towns of Saintes and Cognac throughout the year. Being a family-owned winemaking estate for seven generations, the Logis de l’Astrée has been producing exquisite wines since 2000. Guests are invited to savor the family's Cognac, Pineau des Charentes, and Vin de Pays. Each guest room possesses its own unique character, while still reflecting the austere elegance and grandeur of the surroundings.Description for Gite
The gîte is situated in the old servants' quarters built into the property's surrounding wall, providing a sense of independence while still being a part of the surroundings. It boasts a private garden and secure access to the swimming pool. The gîte has been awarded 3 épis by Gîtes de France.La Petite Maison offers comfortable and traditional holiday accommodation for 2-3 people. The sitting room still features a plain fireplace and potager, typical of simple houses from the period. The bedroom is located on the mezzanine floor overlooking the sitting room. The separate kitchen and bathroom are tiled in terra cotta. The lime-washed walls and linen furnishings create a cozy and homely atmosphere. The private garden is perfect for relaxation before a swim in the pool. Bed linen and towels are provided, and television can be arranged.
La Maison des Chênes is located in the dependences of the south outer wall of the Logis de lAstrée, opening up to a wood in front of the property. It offers a peaceful environment in complete independence. The gîte features two rooms, each with its own private bathroom (shower, WC), and has a surface area of approximately 100 m², making it suitable for a family of 4-5 persons. The large living room opens up to its own garden equipped with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. A path leads to the swimming pool on the property. Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided.
The gîte is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and iron. ADSL internet access is available at the reception of the Logis de lAstrée. There is a car park near the house, with access through the garden. La Maison des Chênes is also accessible for handicapped individuals. It is classified as a 3-star Gîte by Gîtes de France.

To reach the Logis de l'Astrée from Saintes, follow these directions:
1. Start by taking the N141 road heading towards Cognac.
2. After a while, make a left turn onto the D134 road, which will lead you towards Saint Sauvant and Saint Bris des Bois.
3. Continue driving through the village of Saint Bris while staying on the D134 road. Then, take a left turn towards Brizambourg.
4. As you exit the village, keep an eye out for the cemetery. The Logis de l'Astrée is located right next to it.
