Our Piece of Paradise - With over 30 years of falling in love with Creysseilles and its picturesque mountain landscapes, charming stone hamlets, and the warm hospitality of its people, we were fortunate enough to acquire this nearly dilapidated former farm in 1985 and gradually restore it. Located on a ledge at an altitude of 700 meters, our one-hectare property is a perfect place to spend a peaceful night or unwind for a few days, enjoying the tranquility, breathtaking views, and hiking trails in Creysseilles and nearby towns. Like us, you will appreciate this place in all seasons - the blooming spring with yellow broom covering the mountains and clear skies, the pleasant summer heat by the pool accompanied by the sound of cicadas and the scent of freshly cut hay, the golden autumn colors of the landscape, and the cozy winter evenings by the fireplace after a refreshing walk, accompanied by a cup of tea and a slice of gingerbread or baked kougelhopf. Our home features two guest rooms on each side of our living space. Breakfasts and dinners, prepared by the lady of the house, are served in the dining room with its charming arches or on the terrace during the summer season. We are delighted to welcome guests from May 1, 2013, and share our love for this corner of Ardèche. Martine and Jean-Paul Marchal, along with our pets: Allie and Mia (dogs), and Chestnut, Chatra, and Saddle (cats).

About Our House - The oldest part of our farmhouse dates back to the 17th century, and over time, it has been expanded to meet our housing needs. The property consists of three interconnected buildings, vaulted residential spaces, a covered porch, a bread oven, and a courtyard with a gate. The walls have been lowered to enhance the view and provide access to the pool. The land extends over one hectare, consisting of meadows and moors, and features a garden that we restored five years ago, including a pond fed by a spring.

Activities Nearby - For those who enjoy walking or biking, you can explore the extensive network of hiking trails or quiet roads right from our doorstep. Within an hour or two, you can discover the Huguenots Cave, an ancient carved stone tomb, the church, the watchtower with its panoramic 360° view, or the Chirouze volcano. We provide maps and guides of the area and can offer recommendations based on your preferences. If you prefer to explore the area by car, Privas is a 15-minute drive away, Aubenas is 30 minutes away, Antraigues takes 45 minutes, Vallon Pont d'Arc is an hour away, and Mont Gerbier de Jonc is an hour and 15 minutes away. For food enthusiasts, Privas offers chestnuts from Clement Faugier, mountain charcuterie (stomachs, hams, dried sausages), famous picodon goat cheese, red Côtes du Rhône wines (Syrah, Merlot, etc.), and white wines (Chardonnay, Viognier, etc.).

Appréciations pour Les Chambres du Clair, Creysseilles:

Une semaine sereine et sympathique
Review by: Josette, Sep 20 2016 1:21PM
